"Bringing Researchers and Industry Together to Address Research Needs on Infectious Hematopoietic Necrosis Virus (IHNV)in the British Columbia Salmon Farming Industry"
Campbell River, British Columbia
January 10 - 12, 2003
Veterinarians, research scientists, First Nations, salmon farmers, and government and community representatives attended the 2003 IHNV Research Summit workshop on Infectious Hematopoietic Necrosis Virus (IHNV)
Organized by the BC Innovation Council, and sponsored by the BC Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries; AquaNet (the Network of Centres for Excellence in Aquaculture); Fisheries and Oceans Canada; BC Salmon Farmers Association and several BC salmon farming companies and industry suppliers; the three-day workshop held January 10 - 12, 2003 attracted approximately 80 participants and included scientific presentations from 20 experts in fish disease management and fish virology addressing IHNV. The objective of the session was to gain a better understanding of IHNV and identify and prioritize research needs to help organizations create fundable research proposals that help to better manage this virus.
The proceeding of the workshop are posted below. All files are in .pdf format.
