BCIC, in cooperation with the Science Fair Foundation of British Columbia, recognizes the achievements of the winners of B.C. regional science fairs who are provincial representatives to the Canada Wide Science Fair.
Innovation Exploration focuses on ideas, education and career development, giving young scientists and innovators the opportunity to meet and network with leaders from B.C.'s science and technology development community. Students attend a three-day career exploration event in Vancouver which includes an invitation to the British Columbia Innovation Council Awards Dinner.
Students have the opportunity to:
- Engage in exciting programs offered by science outreach groups
- Explore university programs and careers in science, technology, engineering, digital arts+media+design and business
- Enjoy campus tours offered at B.C. post-secondary institutions
- Attend the annual British Columbia Innovation Council Awards Dinner, where student achievements are formally recognized
- Network with peers and science and technology industry professionals
The program began in 1990 and since then over 500 young innovators have participated in exploring B.C. post-secondary education and research offerings and career opportunities in science and technology.
